Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Landright Pro (“Landright Pro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit our website, create an account, or use our services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Who We Are
Landright Pro provides software that answers questions about North Carolina land-use and zoning ordinances, with citations to the underlying code. We are the controller responsible for the personal information described in this Policy. If you have questions, contact us using the details in Section 13.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information — such as your name, email address, and a password when you register; or, if you sign in through a third-party login provider, the basic profile information that provider shares with us.
- Content you submit — the questions, prompts, and other content you enter into the Service, and the responses generated for you.
- Billing information — if you purchase a paid plan, payment and billing details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact us, submit feedback, request access, or respond to surveys.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — actions you take in the Service, features used, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Device and connection data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Service, and understand usage (see Section 6).
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
- Authenticate you and manage your account;
- Process your questions and generate responses;
- Process payments and manage subscriptions;
- Respond to your requests, feedback, and support inquiries;
- Monitor, analyze, and improve the Service, including the quality and accuracy of responses;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful or unlawful activity;
- Send you service-related communications, and — where permitted — product updates (you can opt out of non-essential messages); and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers. We share information with vendors that perform services on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only to provide those services. These include categories such as cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, artificial-intelligence processing providers, payment processors, email and communications providers, and analytics providers.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a governmental request; to enforce our terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Landright Pro, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
- With your direction or consent. We share information when you ask us to or otherwise consent.
5. Your Content and Artificial Intelligence
Your questions are processed by us and by our artificial-intelligence processing providers solely to generate responses and operate the Service. We do not use the content of your questions to train third-party generative AI models, and our AI processing providers are contractually prohibited from using your content to train their models. We may use aggregated or de-identified information — which does not identify you — to analyze and improve the Service.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the Service, and we use limited analytics to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service functions.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Billing records may be retained for longer periods where required by law.
8. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
U.S. state residents
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising (which, as noted, we do not engage in). You may also have the right to appeal a decision on your request.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you are located in these regions, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to data portability. We process personal information on legal bases including the performance of our contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests, and compliance with law. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
How to exercise your rights
You may exercise your rights by contacting us using the details in Section 13. We will verify your request as required by law before acting on it. You may also access and update certain account information directly within the Service.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and we process and store information in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. Third-Party Links and Sources
The Service may link to government code sources and other third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice as required by law. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
14. Contact Us
